NATIONAL PARK BROCHURES (the 1st full album by AJOG) is a trip through 10 U.S. national parks, meant to be listened to as a complete album. It's a journey influenced* by National Park ephemera/memories/nostalgia; Viewmaster slides of the national parks; Sven Libaek, Werner Herzog, Eden Ahbez, The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" and "Smiley Smile", Burt Bacharach, The High Llamas, The Creation scene in Walt Disney's "Fantasia", Candy Claws' "Hidden Lands", the idealized version of the boy scout I could've been, and the term 'mono no aware' as defined by Wikipedia:
"Mono no aware (物の哀れ?), literally "the pathos of things", and also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence (無常 mujō?), or transience of things, and both a transient gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life."

*p.s. never be afraid to share the good things that have influenced you; you might make someone's life a bit more bearable/magical.
